Some two decades ago, the tragedy involving the Cebu Pacific Flight 387 made a history that can never be forgotten. The ill-fated flight may not have arrived at their expected destination, but the memories of the 104 passengers have certainly landed and remained in the hearts of their loved ones.
The provincial capitol officials lead the annual commemoration of the ill-fated tragedy at the Cebu Pacific Flight 387 Shrine in Brgy. Aposkahoy, Claveria town every February the 2nd. The shrine is a site where rescuers who retrieved unidentified body parts dumped body bags and belongings from the crash site in the middle of Mount Sumagaya, about 6,000 feet above sea level.
Further, this site of the shrine dedicated to them will become a major tourist attraction soonest with the rise of the Misamis Oriental Agriculture and Tourism Complex highlighted by a botanical garden, an initiative of Gov. Bambi Emano.
