Governor Bambi Emano, and the Regional Convergence Initiative – Technical Working Group (RCI-TWG) of Northern Mindanao officially launched the Mt. Balatukan Cluster Convergence Area Development Plan 2019-2022 which serves as the framework for the attainment of responsible eco-tourism, sustainable agriculture, and balanced eco-system of the Balatukan cluster.

Held at the serene beauty of Misamis Oriental Tourism Complex and Botanical Garden, the said initiative aims to improve, conserve, protect, and rehabilitate natural resources through the development and implementation of environment-friendly enterprises and livelihood opportunities of the localities under the Mt. Balatukan cluster, covering the municipalities of Balingasag, Balingoan, Binuangan, Claveria, Kinoguitan, Lagonglong, Magsaysay, Medina, Salay, Sugbongcogon, Talisayan, and Gingoog City.

Present in the event were implementing member-agencies of the RCI, namely: Department of Agriculture (DA), Secretary of the Department of Agrarian Reform, Atty. John R. Castriciones, Regional Director Arleigh Adorable of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and DILG Provincial Director Marisia Naybe, as well as the city/municipalities sharing the Mt. Balatukan spot.
